Purpose: The two-year associate degree in surgical technology program is designed to provide the community with individuals who can function as surgical technologists, providing direct patient care as entry-level technologists. This program of study will provide students with an entrance into the health care field that is rewarding, in demand, and provides an opportunity for career advancement.
Admission Requirements: Requirements may change on an annual basis, and students can find the most up-to-date information in the AAS Surgical Technology Admissions Information Booklet which can be found on the program’s web page, in the Admission and Advising Center and in the Health and Life Sciences Division Office
Graduation Requirement: Students entering the Surgical Technology degree program are required to take one writing intensive course to graduate. Students who are awarded transfer credit for this course from another institution may fulfill the writing intensive course (WIC) requirement for this degree program by completing another writing intensive course. Students in this degree program are required to take one civic engagement (CE) course to graduate.
