Purpose: The PVCC Surgical Technology Program prepares graduates as competent entry-level surgical technologists in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills) and affective (behavior) learning domains. The two-year associate degree in surgical technology program is designed to provide the community with individuals who can function as surgical technologists, providing direct patient care as entry-level technologists. This program of study will provide students with an entrance into the health care field that is rewarding, in demand, and provides an opportunity for career advancement.

Students in all degree programs are required to take at least one Civic Engagement (CE) course to graduate.
