Associate of Science Degree

Transfer Program
Purpose: The associate of science curriculum in engineering is designed for those who plan to transfer to a four-year college or university to complete a baccalaureate degree program in engineering.
Program Requirements: This curriculum emphasizes engineering, mathematics, and the sciences. The curriculum also includes electives in humanities and social sciences so that the student can select the appropriate courses for his or her pre-professional program as required in the first two years of the prospective four-year college or university degree. The responsibility for proper course selection rests with the student. Students who complete the program and fulfill all other graduation requirements will be awarded the associate of science degree in engineering.
Students in all degree programs are required to take at least one Civic Engagement course to graduate.

1. Take EGR 271 for Virginia Tech Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering. Take EGR 125 or CSC 221 for UVA Aerospace/Civil/Mechanical Engineering.
2. Take MTH 266 for Virginia Tech Aerospace/Civil/Mechanical Engineering and UVA Civil Engineering. Take EGR 248 for UVA Aeropsace/Mechanical Engineering.
3. Take EGR 206 for Virginia Tech Civil Engineering. Take PHY 242 for Virginia Tech Aeropsace/Mechanical Engineering and UVA Aerospace/Civil/Mechanical Engineering.
