The Biotechnology Career Studies Certificate can be added to another degree such as the Associate of Science in Science to strengthen your career readiness. Near the end of the program, students are eligible to sit for the Biotechnology Apititude and Competency Exam (BACE), an industry-recognized credential for technician-level positions in biotechnology, life sciences, healthcare, and related fields. Graduates are prepared for a variety of career paths, including roles as Research Technicians, Environmental Health and Safety Technicians, or Forensic Scientists. Students are also well-prepared to transfer to one of the many four-year institutions in Virginia to continue their studies and gain research experience.
