HLT 195 - Introduction to Pharmacy Tech Course ID 134835 Credits 3
Introduces the role of the pharmacy technician in various pharmacy settings, the Federal and State laws governing practice of pharmacy, therapeutic communication skills and the ethics, morals and values of the profession. In addition, routes of medication administration, commonly used abbreviation, systems of measurement, dosage calculations and the sterile and non-sterile compounding are introduced. This course is not intended to transfer.
Lecture 3 hours per week. Total: 3 hours per week
Prerequisite(s): Admission to the Pharmacy Technician Program.
